Sibo

Small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is a recently recognized condition caused by an overgrowth of bacteria in the small bowel.

Symptoms of SIBO can include abdominal bloating, discomfort, indigestion, wind and irregular bowels.

SIBO is diagnosed with a breath test.

Treatment of SIBO is with a low FODMAP diet and antimicrobial therapy.
